About SWRO

South-Western Regional Office (SWRO) of UGC was established in the year 1999 for a ready access and efficient issuance of grants in the South Western states viz Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. UGC SWRO financially assists 226 colleges from Kerala and 453 colleges from Karnataka which are covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act.
For enhancing the Infrastructure of the colleges in the region, following schemes are available with SWRO.

=> General Development Assistance
=> Assistance for the construction of Women’s Hostel
=> Assistance Autonomous Colleges
=> Development of Sports Infrastructure
=> Assistance to Internal Quality Assurance Cell
